Tree T20; This tree has 2 low branches which are growing at a curved angle and my tree surgeon expressed concerns that this could lead to instability of the branches as time goes on. The branches are also very heavy, blocking a street lamp and growing over a path which leads from houses to the garages/ parking area. Take branches back approx 6-10 metres (depending on branch) to allow the street lamp to illuminate the pathway for residents. This is the access path from their houses to their garages and is in frequent use. In addition these are potential 'hazard beams' (and can become unstable) due to the angle of growth. See images. The English Yew trees have become an issue. Their appearance of being planted closely together indicates they may have originally been intended as a hedge. The trees have been maintained regularly but the cutting back of them has been subject to restrictions, so they have grown very tall and wide over time. This application is to obtain permission to return them back to a hedge height and width. The issues are as follows: - they are situated very close to and overhang an electrical sub-station - phones lines are threaded through them, so this and the above point may cause risks to infrastructure - the amount of material falling from the trees blocks the property's gutters and drains on a regular basis - the debris from the trees covers the public side road, property driveway and path to the front door which, when wet, can be slippery and of concern for the safety of the occupants, especially an elderly resident, plus occupants of next door and visitors to both properties. We are proposing the Yew Trees are cut to a height of 4m and 2 metres wide. This allows for clearance under the phone cables and room for growth, remove the overhang from the electrical substation, and 50cm on the road side to align with the road edge.
