A Planning Pipe alternative that ranks the leads for you
Planning Pipe sells UK planning leads with contact details, filtered by sector, value and area. PlanFalcon starts from the same public planning registers but scores every application against the work your business actually does, explains why it matched, and adds public tenders and contract awards to the same feed.

Choose Planning Pipe if…
- You sell to homeowners and small builders, so extensions, loft conversions and self builds are your market.
- You want a downloadable list with client and architect phone numbers as the main product.
- You prefer regular spreadsheet or PDF files to working in an app.
Choose PlanFalcon if…
- You are a civils, groundworks, drainage or highways contractor, or supply them, and most planning applications are noise to you.
- You want public tenders and contract awards next to planning applications rather than in another tool.
- You want each lead to say why it matched, so you can decide in seconds whether to chase it.
- You want to start free and pay less: PlanFalcon Pro is cheaper than Planning Pipe Regional.
The difference: a list of leads, or a shortlist
Planning Pipe advertises thousands of new projects a week. That volume is the point of a leads service, and the work of deciding which ones are worth a call stays with you.
PlanFalcon is built around that decision. It reads each application for the signals a contractor cares about, such as new roads, drainage, earthworks, plot numbers and site area. Then it ranks the application against the services and scheme sizes you told it about. A 40-home scheme with a new access road rises to the top for a highways firm. A rear extension does not.
Planning and procurement in one feed
Public-sector work does not go through the planning register in the same way. PlanFalcon pulls tender and contract award notices from Find a Tender and Contracts Finder and scores them the same way, so a groundworks firm sees the school extension going out to tender beside the housing scheme that has just been submitted.
A contract award matters too. It tells you which main contractor won, which is often the right door to knock on for subcontract packages.
Where Planning Pipe is the better fit
If your customers are homeowners, Planning Pipe covers exactly the applications PlanFalcon deliberately scores down: extensions, loft conversions and single new builds. Its contacts tier is also built around giving you client and architect details for each project. PlanFalcon shows the agent and applicant firms where it can find them, but not on every lead. Both offer a free way to try them, so compare the same area side by side.
Questions
- Is there an alternative to Planning Pipe?
- Yes. PlanFalcon uses the same public UK planning registers, adds public tenders and contract awards, and ranks every application against your trade instead of leaving you to filter a list. Strukta, Glenigan and Barbour ABI are other options, at different prices and depths.
- How much does Planning Pipe cost?
- When we checked their site on 3 November 2026: £44.95 a month for up to two regions, £89.95 a month for nationwide coverage with client and architect contacts, and bespoke six-month packages from £54.95 a month. Check planningpipe.co.uk for current prices.
- How much does PlanFalcon cost?
- There is a free plan for one area. Pro is £29 a month and Max is £59 a month, both with a 14-day free trial and no card needed to start. Prices are published and you can cancel any month.
- Does PlanFalcon include contact details?
- Where they are public. PlanFalcon names the planning agent and applicant firm when the council publishes them, adds Companies House details and parent companies, and shows business phone and website details for the firm. It does not sell personal contact details for named individuals.
- Is PlanFalcon good for extension and loft conversion leads?
- Not really. PlanFalcon deliberately scores householder applications down because its users are contractors and suppliers working on larger schemes. If domestic work is your market, a householder-focused leads service is likely the better fit.
